Thanks for taking the time to reply and not ridiculing me! A.B.

Many thanks for an excellent day yesterday. I found the day very instructive and extrememly enjoyable and hopefully it has set me up for the future as a successful trader.

For the last few weeks, watching the markets, I have become more and more excited about the potential of trading the Forex but felt that I needed direction and some fixed rules to make the trading more automatic and less emotional.

Without doubt yesterday has gone a long way in achieving this and I am more excited than ever about my trading future.BM

Hello Zaz,
... it was enjoyable and instructive both. It was a relaxed and comfortable learning experience, not an easy thing to achieve, and thanks the more for that.
Could you also thank your wife for me for providing a very tasty lunch. It's good to know I can stay in touch and there is little doubt that I will be!
Thanks also for all the "add ons" such as tidying up my computer and all the information you have sent. Peter M

About Me
I spent the first ten years of my working life traveling all over the world working for blue-chip companies at major Aerospace and Defence shows and major television events. Our client list at these events included NASA, Boeing, Airbus, British Aerospace, Martin Marietta and Hughes Corporation on the defence side; MGM, BBC Enterprises, Warner Brothers, NBC, HBO, Carlton TV, Granada and Saban Entertainment (Power Rangers!) on the TV and film side.

I then grew tired of living out of a suitcase for 9-10 months of the year, and in 1994 I started my own company working from home, selling GPS, GSM, and PDA units to industry and the general public, achieving sales of £1M p.a. prior to "retiring" in 2003.

Having known Keith since 1996, and having traded "on and off" for years, I decided to concentrate further on trading, and also joined the TESS Support Team.

I often find that teaching and helping other traders is often as rewarding as trading itself.

Fluent French speaker, French traders welcome!

Hi Zaz
Many thanks for the one to one session last week.

I would just like to say how useful it was to me (maybe essential would be a better word!).  I am really pleased how much education you managed to cram into the time we spent.  I appreciate that I came to you with many questions (some of them were points of clarification and some of course were to gain a greater understanding of the FOREX markets and the TESS software itself.  I am really happy with your understanding and the way that you covered of all of the points for me.

Thanks also for the trading plan that we developed during the session.  The confidence that it has given me is valuable beyond words can express.  I will state that with the US thanksgiving holiday commencing two days after the session, I deliberately didn't trade Wednesday, Thursday or Friday last week.  That leaves me with two trading days (Last Tuesday and today (Monday)).

The results - Following the rules we established to the letter, Tuesday gave me a 148 pip profit (with the potential of a maximum of 327 (max number of pips based on the TESS measuring tool)).  Today was exceptional.  A beautiful trade was confirmed just after 8:00 this morning.  I managed to ride it until 13:40 for a profit of 242 pips!!  As I write this email if I were still in the trade there is a maximum showing of 454 pips (although that would have entailed breaking the exit rule that we established).  Realistically, after taking my 242 I should have re-entered at 14:30 for another 149 pips (but I didn't have the balls for it!!)

What can I say?  For the purposes of establishing confidence I am only trading at 50p per point.  These trades have given me a massive boost.  I only wish that I was in them for £10 per point!!

Thanks again and Best Regards, Peter

I am often asked to recommend books on trading, so here is a list based on my favourites from my trading library:

Market Wizards - I have read this book, and parts of it countless times - a big favourite!
New Market Wizards - almost as good - but don't bother with "Stock Market Wizards", it just doesn't have the edge these two have.
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator - Has been a classic for years - both a trading manual and good bedtime reading.
Against the Gods - the story of risk - incredibly tedious, but highly instructional.
The Great Crash - 1929 - a very short book, but gives a detailed daily analysis of the 1929 crash over several weeks.
Encyclopedia of Chart patterns - Bulkowski's weighty tome on classic chart patterns - think of it as a cookery book for traders!
Extraordinary Popular Delusions... manias will never change: the same old lessons from tulip mania to the South Sea Bubble are just as relevant to Dotcom, Buytolet mania, and probably the biggest bubble of all, the current property market. We just don't seem to learn!
Investment Biker - a classic by the eponymous Jim Rogers
Six Days in October - recommended by a friend - on my Amazon Wish List!
